A Toast To 10 Stunning Yarra Valley Wedding Venues That Stole My Heart in 2023!

The Yarra Valley is known for its lush, rolling hills, beautiful vineyards, and some of Australia’s best food and wine. So it’s no surprise that there are so many stunning Yarra Valley wedding venues!

This is one of my favourite areas to photograph since the natural landscape is just gorgeous and there are plenty of unique wineries, barns and restaurants that we can use to create beautiful wedding photos.

Because the Yarra is only an hour from Melbourne, it’s an ideal location for a wedding that’s close to the city, but with plenty of accommodation options for guests who want to make a weekend of it. Just keep in mind that the Yarra is super popular with couples, so try to book your date as far in advance as you can.

To help with your planning, below are seven of the best wedding venues in the Yarra Valley that I absolutely can’t get enough of! From a unique history to spectacular wines, these venues all have something special and beautiful about them, and I know you’ll love them too.

1. Stones of the Yarra Valley

You really can’t go past this one – it’s one of the most beautiful Yarra Valley wedding venues with a chapel. Featuring stained-glass windows and minimalist elegance, it’s honestly one of the most picturesque chapels anywhere in the area. Both the interior and exterior are ideal for wedding photography too!

Stones of the Yarra do weddings really well and definitely cater to the luxury market. You can host your reception in either the Barn or the Stables, plus the Farmhouse at Meletos, right next door, offers accommodation for guests who want to stay for the weekend and enjoy the property.

2. Coombe Yarra Valley

I must confess, the Coombe Yarra Valley is one of my favourite Yarra Valley wedding destinations. I shoot here all the time and just can’t get enough of the gardens, architecture and stunning views!

The Coombe has a very cool history too – would you believe it’s the former home of iconic opera singer Dame Nellie Melba? She loved this place, and Coombe Cottage is still owned by her family.

The seven acres of manicured gardens are just dreamy, so consider the Coombe if you’re planning a spring wedding. There’s also a fantastic restaurant within the historic clock tower, serving up delicious produce grown on the estate.

3. The Farm Yarra Valley

I loved the chill vibe of The Farm – and the food! It’s one of the best Yarra Valley wedding venues if you’re going for a relaxed, rustic chic sort of place.

Set across 100 acres, it’s a huge property with lots of space for you to customise your event – I particularly love the farmhouse with its huge wraparound verandah.

The Farm is focused on local, seasonal produce and they even make their own beer and wine on-site, so it’s a great choice for couples who are all about sustainability and supporting local.

4. Acacia Ridge

Of course, one of the best things about the Yarra is the wine! So it’s no surprise that many couples love the idea of a winery wedding. If your heart is set on one, you can’t go wrong with Acacia Ridge – it’s one of the most gorgeous winery wedding venues in the Yarra Valley.

You’ll love the property’s rustic barn, open-air marquee and rolling vineyards – you and your guests will have endless space to relax and explore.

Acacia offers a range of wedding packages and specialises in multicultural weddings and dietary considerations, which I love.

5. Yering Station

If you’re wondering where to get married in the Yarra Valley that’s really above and beyond, have a look at Yering Station. Dating back to 1838, it’s Victoria’s first-ever vineyard. The architecture and gardens here are spectacular as well, and they even have their own art gallery!

Yering Station specialises in luxury weddings and events, so your big day will be in good hands – their dedicated wedding team can walk you through all of their packages and venue options.

6. Immerse Yarra Valley

Immerse Winery is a gorgeous, family-run venue, with 20 rooms for guests. If you’re thinking of a destination wedding, Immerse is one of my favourite Yarra Valley wedding venues with accommodation.

You absolutely need to have a look at the Vineyard Chapel – their gorgeous little chapel with floor-to-ceiling windows, set literally among the vineyards. There’s also a cute garden chapel and paddock if you prefer a romantic outdoor ceremony. Having both your wedding and reception in the same place can often make your day less stressful, an important consideration when planning your wedding day timeline

I love this venue for Yarra Valley wedding photography as well, since it offers such gorgeous light and we have plenty of stunning landscapes and structures to use as backdrops.

7. Zonzo

Absolutely adore wine and want only the best for your guests? If so, I recommend Zonzo. Their small-batch wines are made by hand and are always winners, so no matter when your wedding takes place, you and your guests will enjoy delicious, seasonal wines.

The food is just as good, with their restaurant specialising in Italian cuisine. You can host both your reception and ceremony here, with Zonzo’s contemporary, striking chapel the ideal place for a unique ceremony. Or why not kick off your married life with a low-key outdoor ceremony in the vineyards? Quintessential Yarra Valley!

We’re so lucky to have so many gorgeous wedding options right on our doorstep. If you’re looking to hire a wedding photographer in the Yarra Valley or just have a few questions about the process, feel free to reach out for a chat. I’ve shot weddings at just about all of these venues and would be delighted to share my experience to help you plan your most memorable day!

8. St Hubert’s

Opening in 2022, St Huberts Estate is a popular wedding venue located in the heart of the Yarra Valley, which is known for its picturesque scenery, lush vineyards, and stunning natural landscapes. The estate is surrounded by rolling hills and offers panoramic views of the valley, making it a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony and reception.

In addition to its natural beauty, St Huberts Estate offers a range of wedding packages and services to suit different styles and budgets. They have an experienced team of wedding coordinators who can help you plan every detail of your special day, from the ceremony and reception to catering, music, and photography.

9. Riverstone Estate

Riverstone Estate in the Yarra Valley is a wonderful choice for couples looking for a romantic and picturesque wedding venue. The venue’s stunning views, make it the ideal choice for your ceremony, see below!

10. Yarra Ranges Estate

Yarra Ranges Estate is another beautiful venue worth looking at. Covered in roses and with a backdrop of the beautiful vineyard, this venue needs hardly any additional decorating. The staff here are super lovely and helpful and they also offer beautiful food and cocktails.
